Hit and Run
July 31, 2019

On 07/31/19 around 2124 hrs officers responded to 824 E Main St for a vehicle/pedestrian hit and run accident.
 

The suspect vehicle was described only as a "White Boxy Style Vehicle". 

 Witnesses stated the white vehicle continued east on main, then turned N/B onto Bowman at which time they lost sight of the vehicle. 

 

The vehicle should have front end damage.

Shooting investigation
July 28, 2019

On 07/28/19 around 5:04am Danville Police responded to the area of the 500 block of Plum St in reference to a report of shots fired.  Upon arrival officers located a 27 year old Danville man with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.  The victim stated he was inside his residence when he heard shots fired outside.  The victim looked out of a window and was then struck by a bullet as the shooting continued.  A witness stated she saw 2 male black subjects in dark colored hooded sweatshirts shooting towards the residence and then another male black subject appear from behind a house and start shooting back at the 2 men.  All of the suspects then fled the scene on foot in unknown directions.  The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening wounds.

Shooting investigation
July 28, 2019

On 07/28/19 around 4:47 am Danville Police responded to the 300 block of Alexander St in reference to a report of shots fired.  Upon arrival officers located a 44 year old Danville man and a 41 year old Danville woman who each had a gunshot wound to their leg.  The victims both stated they were inside their residence when they heard multiple shots fired from outside and were struck by bullets that passed through the house.  Both victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment of their non-life threatening wounds.  There is no suspect or vehicle description available for this incident.

Shooting incidents
July 28, 2019

On 07/28/19 around 12:56am Danville Police responded to the area of the 1300 block of May St for a report of shots fired.  Upon arrival officers spoke with a 28 year old Danville man who stated he was outside in his driveway when he heard several shots fired.  Officers checked the area and located multiple bullet holes in the siding of the man’s home.  The victim stated he saw a dark colored SUV leaving the scene after the shooting.  Later, on 07/28/19 around 3:04 am Danville Police responded back to the same residence for another report of shots fired.  Officers spoke to the same victim from the first incident and he stated he heard more shots fired and this time he observed a white pickup truck fleeing the scene.   No injuries were reported for either of these incidents.

Armed Robbery
July 19, 2019

On 07/19/19 around 11:54pm Danville Police responded to the 1200 block of Fairchild St in reference to a taxi driver who had been robbed.  Upon arrival officers spoke with a Mr. Taxi driver who stated he had be robbed at gunpoint in the area of the 1700 block of Glenwood Dr.    The victim stated he had arrived in the area to pick up a fare when two male subjects wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirts approached him.  The victim said one of the subjects was armed with a handgun and demanded the victims money.  The victim was then robbed of his wallet, cell phone and an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspects fled the area on foot and were last seen going southbound from the area.  There were no injuries reported during this incident.

Burglary to Business
July 17, 2019

On 7/17/19 at 0107 hrs, Tacos Y Nieves, 501 N. Vermilion St. was burglarized.   Video shows a subject wearing a puffy jacket and silver gym shorts break through the front glass door.  The cash register and an undisclosed amount of money were then taken from the business.

Suspicious fire
June 28, 2019

On June 28th at approximately 2339 hrs, Danville fire Department responded to 920 Harmon for a house fire.  Upon investigating the fire, it was determined to be caused by suspicious circumstances.

Armed Robbery
June 02, 2019

On 06/02/19 around 10:46 pm Danville Police responded to the Casey’s Gas Station located in the 2100 block of E. main St. in reference to an armed robbery that had just occurred.  Upon arrival officers spoke with the employees who stated a male and female entered the store wearing masks and the male subject was armed with a handgun.  The employees stated the male subject pointed the gun at them and demanded the money from the register.  The male and female suspects both went behind the counter a removed money from the register before fleeing the business.  The suspects were last seen running from the business where they fled in an unknown direction.  Suspect #1 was described as a black male who was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a mask over his face and armed with a handgun.  Suspect #2 was described as a black female wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a mask over her face.  No injuries were reported during this incident. 

 

The investigation into this incident continues and no other information is being released at this time.

Shots fired
May 28, 2019

On 05/28/19 around 12:28 am Danville Police responded to the area of the 300 block of Alexander St. for a report of shots fired.  Upon arrival officers spoke with a victim who stated she heard multiple gunshots and her residence was struck multiple times by the gunfire.  The victim stated she was inside her residence and didn’t see where the shooting came from.  A witness stated he observed two male black subjects walk up to the residence and start shooting and then the subjects ran from the area in an unknown direction.  No injuries were reported during this incident.

 

The investigation into these incident’s continues and no other information is being released at this time.

Shooting Investigation
May 27, 2019

On 05/27/19 around 1:30 am Danville Police responded to the area of the 1200 block of Chandler St. in reference to a female victim of a gunshot wound.  Upon arrival officers located a 22 year old Danville woman with gunshot wounds to her hand and abdomen.  The victim stated she was at a party in the 1200 block of Chandler St. when two male black men began shooting at her. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of her wounds and is in stable condition.  No other injuries were reported during this incident.  Danville police checked the scene and surrounding areas but were unable to locate any suspects.
